The Original Self

Perhaps we are constantly creating each other and the ones who can stand back and repel this causation of influence are usually the leaders in our culture and world.  We rely heavily on the approval of others to contain our self control and meaning in life but never it seems we stop and think that the other person relies just as heavily on us as we do them. And so I suppose in a sense no one is original and nothing is what it seems because there is an influence that began long ago and it swivels and swims in each of us daily. This is a constant motion that had a beginning but has no end. At some point we can turn the course of the way by our actions and words, our deeds. But if we do not steer back to the basics and learn the reason why we are here has not changed much since the beginning of time; we are doomed for failure.

I hope we can all become our true spiritual selves through our love for one another and our understanding that all thoughts are connected and originality is often times the recognition of the concatenation of events.

My Art

Giving may be the only way
I find my mind thinking today
I can let go of my possessions
but i find it hard to let go of my art
its no big deal I tell my mind
but she tugs and insist you cannot
I sense loathing as I dissect every facet of my situation
and grief in the simple calm of the night
this is why I need to think like Buddha I tell my grinding mind
yet I cannot seem to let go of my art
it is the essence of my being
the touch of God to my life
a breath of sanity in my racing heart
and so I will conjure a plan to escape this haunting thought
and perhaps after thinking will land in the same realization
that though my art is an extension of me it brings joy to others
awakens their souls ~
heals their weary eyes ~
I will try, oh I will try harder
to be more generous of my own meaning

La Luna

Magneficiant Moon bring me clarity and love
As you hang above my home ~ I feel your vibration of serene color and detailed reason
You are the answer in my heart as I feel the night intrude my being ~ sweeping me into transformation
of thoughts,
of mind,
of body
I love you Moon,
I love you Night
Please come to me and speak my name with your whispers and promises
Promise me this moment will always be in reach
Sing to me your comfort of nature's rhythms
I will forever admire your timeless beauty

Memories of Being

I remember those days of brewing coffee as the rain pelted down and the comfort of a quilt and a novel were better then a million dollars.  I remember the inspiration ignited in spurts and the pen in hand racing across the paper instantly and intentionally.  The furnace humming, the moment to moment.  The smells of bread baking and the quiet street.  A magic I see now that is easily lost to jobs, bosses, and TV.  I thought I had lost this charge of child like being, this zen of writing and thoughts.  But just today I was ignited once again.  I search for the moment...was it special in any way?  What was can I bottle this emotion of perfect time?  There is no language to explain the exact moment of being.  It is a time that exists always but our gritty souls are too displaced and indifferent to recognize.

Intangible and simple this moment produces complexity and beauty, and each of us tells a different story in the art of explanation.

Our Itasca Sunrise!

First Day in our Winnebago! We slept last night in our comfy queen size bed in our very own motor home bedroom! We watched Alfred Hitchcock on our TV in the bedroom and felt the night air cool our 32 foot home on wheels. Brigid was very well behaved and seemed to settle in quite quickly. Although we can see our house only a few feet away (since we are parked in our driveway ;) we did have a sense of what it will be like when we are on the road driving across the Country to reach our destination of ARIZONA!!!

This morning we cooked breakfast! I love gas stoves, the food is so much more flavorful and delicious. Our stove has three burners and we have an oven too. This RV is going to have wonderful smells coming through the windows.....

I made bacon and eggs for Ron and bacon and avocado for me :) YUM. The bacon taste so much better cooked in our RV. ;)

 My Mouth is full!!

Briggy's Breakfast

We are so excited to own a Winnebago, but the true excitement will be in our cross country trip and to once again see the West. We are truly inspired by nature, travel, and the excitement of living each day to the fullest! But our biggest goal is to live a more simple life and live each moment as though it were our last. As cliche as this may sound we are ready to make a change in our lives that will benefit our art, our spirits, and hopefully inspire other people!!! Thank you for sharing in our adventures! This is only the beginning.

"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
