THE JIMMY STEWART
ORCHESTRA
THERE’S NOTHING LIKE CHRISTMAS- CD
Single
What do you get when you combine the CT Humane
Society, 13 swinging musicians, two great vocalists and 9 kid singers? Answer:
You get the debut recording of The Jimmy Stewart Orchestra with vocalist Ron
Drago belting out the vocals on his original holiday neo-swing song “THERE’S
NOTHING LIKE CHRISTMAS”. If you like bands like The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Big
Bad Voodoo Daddy, Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr., you’ll love this song!
Recorded at Sonalysts Studios Power
Station New England, Stewart and Drago brought together many of their talented musical
contacts from around the country to assist in putting together what they are
sure will be a Christmas favorite for years to come. Some of the better known musicians who
contributed to this recording are JOSHUA LEVY (Pianist/Arranger for Big Bad
Voodoo Daddy) wrote the arrangement. Lead trumpet great, ROGER INGRAM (formerly
with Harry Connick Jr., Ray Charles, Tom Jones and Maynard Ferguson) set the
style and pace of the band as lead trumpet. BILL HOLLOMAN (who has performed
with Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, Elton John, Les Paul, and more) blew the
hot tenor sax solo. AMANDA CARR (Solo Artist) sang back up and DOUG SAX from
The Mastering Lab did the mastering.
So, how does the Humane Society fit into
the equation? Stewart and his wife
Samantha, who plays alto sax on the recording, are volunteers and supporters of
their local Humane Society. “We thought combining our love of animals and music
into a project that could help raise money to promote animal welfare would be
rewarding, so a portion of the proceeds from this song will be donated to the
CT Humane Society as well as other animal rescue facilities.”
